In 2012, what started as a small gathering of yoga enthusiasts in a rented basement space has grown into one of Prague's most respected wellness studios. Our founder, Lucie Dvořáková, returned from studying in India with a vision: to create a space where the ancient wisdom of yoga could meet the needs of modern urban life.
The name "Pohoda" captures our essence perfectly. In Czech, it means tranquility, ease, and well-being — exactly what we aim to offer every person who walks through our doors.
Over the years, we have welcomed students from all walks of life, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, from stressed executives to curious retirees. Each one has contributed to the tapestry of our community.
We believe yoga is far more than physical postures. It is a path toward understanding yourself, managing life's challenges with grace, and connecting with something larger than daily concerns.
Every class we offer reflects this holistic view. Technical precision matters, but so does the breath, the intention, and the quality of attention you bring to your practice. Our instructors are trained to honor all these dimensions.
We reject the commercialization that has diluted yoga in many places. Here, you will not find gimmicks or trends. You will find sincere teaching, a supportive environment, and practices that have stood the test of centuries.
"The instructors here see you as a whole person, not just a body to bend into shapes. After three years, I cannot imagine my week without this studio."
These principles shape every decision we make, from hiring instructors to designing our space.
We teach what we practice ourselves. No shortcuts, no pretense, just genuine transmission of knowledge.
Every body is a yoga body. We welcome all ages, abilities, and backgrounds without exception.
We continuously refine our methods, attend trainings, and seek ways to serve our students better.
Located in Prague's Vinohrady district, our studio occupies a renovated early-20th-century building. High ceilings and original hardwood floors create an atmosphere that feels both grounded and expansive.
We maintain two practice rooms: a larger one for group classes that can accommodate up to 18 students, and a smaller one for private sessions, workshops, and intimate gatherings.
The space is equipped with premium props — bolsters, blocks, straps, and blankets — all sourced from ethical suppliers. We provide everything you need; just bring yourself and an open mind.
Words only convey so much. The real understanding comes from stepping onto the mat.
